ABOUT

There are journeys that leave behind photographs. And there are journeys that change the way you see the world.

The Musical Expedition is a three-day journey through the untouched nature of the Baltic Sea, visiting remote islands and protected shores where music meets silence and art meets the breath of nature.

Our journey will take us through the mysterious island of Saaremaa, the secluded island of Ruhnu, and the unique natural reserve at Cape Kolka in Latvia, where the waters of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga meet, allowing us to witness the endless migration of birds and feel a part of the vast natural world.

The expedition will be led by renowned musicians, including the cellists Boris Andrianov and Anna Koshkina, and the violinist Sergey Malov. Their concerts will not be separated from the audience by a stage, but will become an integral part of the journey, conversations, walks, and discoveries.

A special participant of the expedition will be a well-known Latvian birdwatcher and journalist Sasha Borzenko, who will help us to see and hear the amazing life of the Baltic Sea – its birds, migration routes, its sounds and secrets.

We will have sunrises over the sea, walks along dunes and forest paths, chamber concerts in unusual spaces, birdwatching, conversations around the campfire and a rare opportunity to get out of the usual rhythm of life for a few days.

This journey is not about tourism and not about a festival in the usual sense. This is an attempt to regain the ability to marvel at the world as sincerely as in childhood. Listen to music not as a background, but as an event. To look at birds not as a part of the landscape, but as a miracle. Slow down, feel the space around you, and live a few days with genuine emotions, attention, and the joy of discovery.

A musical expedition is a journey for those who love music, nature and real experiences. For those who are ready to go towards beauty — external and internal.
